What is a bonded screed?

A bonded screed is a screed bed that is less than 50mm in thickness. The screed bed is installed over one of the Regupol® impact sound acoustic underlays. Normally tile and stone floors are then installed over the screed, however, other floor finishes can be installed to the prepared screed bed. The thickness of the screed is dependent on what Regupol® product is selected – refer to the specific Regupol® Acoustic System for more information on screed height. The sand cement screed includes a polymer additive to achieve an increased compressive and tensile strength. The Regupol® is also primed with the polymer additive prior to installing the screed.
